Mark James, long time friend and supporter of Nyumbani, has planned his next fundraiser in honor of our 25th anniversary: he will walk 175km from Nyumbani Children’s Home in Nairobi to Nyumbani Village in Kitui County. Mark’s walk will raise awareness and funds for Nyumbani, with the assistance of Kenyan Rotaract and Rotary clubs.
Mark, who lives in Scotland, has previously raised funds for Nyumbani by attempting and setting numerous squash world records. He is the son of Alison Stedman, who has planned and executed over 17 mission trips to Nyumbani from Scotland in the past 12 years. Mark’s walk is planned for January, coinciding with Alison’s final mission trip to Kenya. The two will be joined with other volunteers, including Emily Woods, who first visited Nyumbani last February.
