The MASK Prize is an annual competition with prizes for schools and young people under the age of 25 living in Africa and people of African origin living outside the continent. The entries are displayed each year in an exhibit at London’s Saatchi Gallery. The competition ignites and celebrates their creativity – inventiveness, ingenuity, innovation, resourcefulness and outside-box thinking. The prize was created by Alla Tkachuk in 2012 with the aim of promoting and encouraging creativity amongst young people and schools in Africa.
Children from Nyumbani’s programs have participated in MASK for the last several years. It is always a fantastic experience that validates and encourages the creativity being fostered at Nyumbani.
