Nyumbani USA’s upcoming Benefit Gala, celebrating our 25th Anniversary, will feature Dr. Mark Dybul as keynote speaker. The benefit is September 22nd, 2017 at the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. – get your tickets here!
Mark is an outstanding choice as keynote speaker to celebrate the 25th Nyumbani Anniversary. He has spent his professional career fighting AIDS and other infectious diseases, first treating AIDS patients, then as a ground breaking researcher in virology, microbiology and infectious diseases, especially in the field of HIV and other viral infections.
Mark became the face of the American response to the AIDS crisis as the United States Global AIDS Coordinator, leading the implementation of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) from 2006 to 2009 and since 2012 has been the face of the worldwide NGO response to infectious diseases as Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Mark helped shape the PEPFAR program into what many historians call the most successful US foreign policy initiative ever. PEPFAR is credited with saving nearly 12 million lives in Africa and nearly 2 million babies have been born HIV-free to infected mothers. Selfless, humanitarian, and incredibly effective- these are the same words that best describe Mark Dybul as he continues to take on some of the deadliest diseases affecting mankind.
