Dentists Sara Gilmer and Carolina Landivar are traveling to Kenya this week to provide dental checkups for the children of Nyumbani Village.
The dentists work at the Rosalind Kerr Dental Surgery in Peeblesshire, United Kingdom. Gilmer visited Nyumbani Village five years ago through a volunteer trip. Now, she is returning with Landivar to provide dental services, something she noticed was lacking during in her first visit. The pair have been fundraising for months to raise the necessary funding to buy dental equipment and bring over donated clothes, shoes, etc. They even fundraised by running multiple road races, physically challenging themselves for the cause.
During their fourteen day trip they aim to examine all 1,000 children in the Village. This is an amazing project that will greatly benefit the health and wellbeing of the children.
Thank you so much to Gilmer and Landivar for selflessly sharing their exclusive dental services with the children of Nyumbani.
