When you have the opportunity to visit the amazing Nyumbani Village, there is a storeroom of riches to visit. Everyone in the community has a purpose, and even downtime is productive. For the ShuShus (grandmothers), they weave incredible baskets. The colors, patterns, and size are all unique. They reflect the colorful spirit of a joyous community.
The US Nyumbani Board (COGRF) met this weekend for their annual all-day retreat. With 17 participants the discussions were wide ranging and goal-directed. Led by Charles DeSantis, we were able to stay on topic. Standouts were tertiary education, planning for the 25th anniversary gala, and the Village earth dams (cisterns).
